A Prayer for Spiritual Battle

Hey, you, Child of God. Do you know who you are? Do you know that you were born in the image and likeness of God?

Yup, that’s right.

You are special, worthy, and were purchased for a great price.

But, do you believe me when I tell you that there are forces in this world that would like to keep you from knowing who you truly are and how special and worthy you are?

We here at Little with Great Love have been reflecting on the need to armor up for the battle, because oh yes, there is a battle.

It’s kind of plain and simple, really. You and I are God’s precious children. God desires that we come to believe that, accept it, and start living like it. But there are evil forces around us that will do everything to try to keep us from believing, accepting, and knowing the truth of who and WHOSE we are.

Nothing can defeat the power of God, and we, His baptized sons and daughters, have been given authority over anything that is not of God.

So, friends, if we know we’re in a battle every day, we need to make sure we’re properly armored. Nothing can defeat the power of God, and we, His baptized sons and daughters, have been given authority over anything that is not of God.

We can claim this power to prepare ourselves for our daily battles, to combat the principalities of evil that are at work against us each day. And I’d love to invite you to do this with me.

This week, our Little With Great Love Contributors Lisa and Tammi will be sharing more with us on how to know when we’re stuck in a battle of spiritual warfare and how to take charge in that battle.

To get you guys and gals geared up for that discussion, I’d like to invite you to pray a prayer of deliverance with me.

So, take a moment, take a deep breath, let yourself get calm, and come to a place of rest, and then imagine yourself gearing up, getting charged, and getting psyched up to go into battle. This is, indeed, a real battlefield, and we are in it to win it.

Here we go.

Personal Deliverance Prayer

I welcome the power of the resurrected Christ into any strongholds Satan thinks he may have in or around me, and in the name of Jesus I break any generational or personal hold of the spirits that torment my generations or me.

I place upon myself the helmet of salvation, breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth, and the shoes of the gospel of peace. I take of the shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God.

In the name of Jesus Christ and by my authority as a Christian, I’m bind you Satan, and all demonic spirits on the earth, in the air, in the fire, in the water, in the atmosphere, in the netherworld, and all the satanic forces of nature. I bind you from intercommunication or interrelationship with each other. I separate you totally and completely from each other.

(Pray the following paragraph three times.)

In the name of the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit, I rebuke and bind any spirit not of our Lord Jesus Christ and I command it to leave my presence, my loved ones and my possessions. I bind and break every satanic sacrifice, curse, hex, seal, spell, sorcery, evil eye, and anything else of like nature, also any disease placed upon me or my family by any agent or brought upon us by our own mistakes or sins.

In the name of Jesus Christ I bind all spirits of the north, south, east, and west, and all other evil spirits trying to influence the personnel, functions, and the property of my parish. Lord God, send your angels into these regions to draw your people to you.

Mary, the Immaculate, clothe me in the light, power, and energy of your faith. Father God, please assign angels and saints to assist me. I ask that my guardian angel will protect me from sin. Thank you Jesus for being my wisdom, my justice, my sanctification and my redemption. I surrender to the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.
