A brief story of how I failed at managing stress.
Recognizing what does not work for stress management:
- Negative self talk
- Using mood altering substances to manage stress
- Failing to recognize the need to deal with emotions
Tools that do work for stress management:
- Asking for help from God and others (being honest, open, and willing)
- Deciding not to “should on yourself”; Henry Ford once said, “If we think we can or we can’t, we are right”
These things helped me to manage stress like a champ.
