On July 8, 2021, six women from the Little With Great Love ministry set out to go on their 1st Annual Team Retreat. We converged upon a rented beach house in Port Aransas, Texas from Pennsylvania, Florida, Louisiana and parts of Texas. There was rain, but still enough sunny moments for a couple hours down at the beach during rec time.
The theme of our retreat was “Who Am I?” It fit perfectly with our vision for the ministry this year of restoring our identity as God’s beloved.
“How I identify myself determines how I approach life.”
We may label ourselves solely by whatever we were at in a specific time in our life – or others may do that to us.
Many things will want to define our identity – our family, culture, job, woundedness, our “disorders” (mental health, illnesses, etc.) But looking at who we are as Christians and in a Catholic sense is much different.
It can be challenging to truly embrace ourselves for all that we are. Our wounds, sins, faults, and failings. But God doesn’t define us by these things – why do we?
We dug more into “Who Am I” from the standpoint of God’s beloved throughout the weekend. We did exercises to help us see ourselves in light of our strengths, as well as in light of our root sin.
God shared with our Founder, Lisa, just a glimpse of what He sees in each of us. Watch until the end of video to see what He said!
Our sisterhood gathered until Sunday, where we officially ended our retreat with Mass at St. Mary, Star of the Sea. Here are a few highlights from the first time that our entire team came together in person, and the very first time that some teammates met each other in real life!
