St. Anthony of Padua

Have you ever called on St. Anthony of Padua to help you find something lost? I’ve done this more times than I can count, and he always, ALWAYS comes through.

I’ve asked him to help me find my leggings, and he helped me find a pair of leggings, but not the  pair I was asking for. I laughed and thought, I guess I have to be more specific. So I asked specifically for my black workout leggings, and he helped me find them really quick. This man has a sense of humor.

While I was introduced to St. Anthony as the finder of lost things, there is so much more to him that I’ve only just discovered. Of course, I found out this man was a Franciscan, adding another saint who has revealed himself to me who was referred by my patron, Saint Francis. I will be speaking about Saint Francis later this season.

The reason why I’ve been looking more into this saint is because he has recently been revealing himself to me in so many new ways.

I’ve also thought of turning to him to ask for his help to not just finding lost items, but maybe lost feelings. I’ve asked him to help me find my peace, joy, or happiness in situations of stress or anxiety, and he has helped intercede on my behalf.

Now when I call on him to help me find something lost, he speaks back to me, and we converse. I’ve also thought of turning to him to ask for his help to not just finding lost items, but maybe lost feelings. I’ve asked him to help me find my peace, joy, or happiness in situations of stress or anxiety, and he has helped intercede on my behalf.

Saint Anthony is also the patron saint of travelers. As someone who loves to travel, I am surprised I didn’t know this sooner, and from now on I’m making sure I reach out to this guy when I’m planning on traveling. While I am a homebody, traveling makes me so happy and I cannot go a year without it.

My love for travel stems from the many road trips my family took together when I was younger. I cannot wait to continue this tradition with my kids, and be able to experience different cultures. In fact, I graduated with a BA in Religious Studies mainly because I wanted to learn about other cultures and their religions, so when I travel to these other places I can understand them and fully experience their culture with appreciation and respect.

Saint Anthony is known for being a great man of prayer and a great scripture and theology scholar, how amazing! It’s incredible what the saints can reveal to us, connecting with us on a personal level, like Saint Anthony has with me. He’s shown me he’ll not only answer my prayer to find lost things, but will also protect me in my travels and point me to scripture and theology.

I hope to call on Saint Anthony of Padua now for more than just lost things, because I know he will answer, and most of the time with a sense of humor.
