God’s Love in the Trees

Experiencing the Goodness & Restoration of God in Nature

October 5, 2020

God's love

Today I am pleasantly reminded of the beauty and healing power of nature. I set out to my favorite park to decompress and enjoy the stillness of Mother Nature. I’m reminded as I lay here on the grass (with my…

OUR FOUNDER

Creative, Entrepreneur & Silly-Heart. Christ has called her to bring the broken to His Sacred Heart. Calls Austin home with her mountain-man husband, Mike, who she loves to travel through life with as well as around the world.

Our Discipleship Team

Our discipleship team is a group of women on a journey towards restoration in their hearts, homes, and health. May our lives reveal how little with great love things can impact our families and communities.

Our Mission

To accompany pilgrims through the mountains and valleys of their journeys, bringing hope, healing, and restoration in Christ by sharing our stories, gifts, and serving in the “Little Way” with great love.

Each tiny dot in this pointillism drawing, covered

Each tiny dot in this pointillism drawing, covered in prayer, comes together to reveal the beautiful image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. I started doing this stippling art technique in high school. It slows me down, and reminds me that the most beautiful things are created through patience, prayer, and faithfulness in the little things.

I started this piece in March 2020, during the lockdown of the Covid pandemic. It was how I was processing and praying through so many difficulties, especially as my Father-in-law’s health was in its final decline.

As we celebrate the Jubilee Year of Our Lady of Guadalupe, beginning today, October 12, I’m grateful to share a glimpse behind the creation of this piece. May Our Lady draw us closer to her Son and remind us that every small act, offered with great love, can become something beautiful. 💙

If God had listened to me, I would’ve never lived

If God had listened to me, I would’ve never lived the wonderful life I have. I would’ve been a mom. I had never dreamed of starting a small business, then a nonprofit, then a restoration ministry outreach…

I didn’t think that a few merch items in our online shop from the podcast I had hoped to eventually start would grow to over 100 items. Some of which I painted, designed, created, collaborated on, and even purchased through a buyer’s account I set up at the World Trade Center in Dallas earlier this year to help people pray and support my ministry work. Who would’ve guessed our podcast, Saints for Slackers, with no marketing budget would have listeners in 50 countries?!

With a phobia of public speaking, why would I ever had even thought I’d establish an apostolate for Catholic speakers. Or that I’d give a keynote address at a women’s conference…

I certainly haven’t arrived. I still have much to learn, and many more dreams I’m working on with the Lord. Yet I know this: @melrobbins is right, I’m going to keep showing up. What about you?

What was St. Therese of Lisieux really like? Liste

What was St. Therese of Lisieux really like? Listen to one of the most vivid portraits ever given of our patroness, from a Carmelite sister with whom she lived in the convent, St. Marie of the Angels.

As we celebrate her Feast Day today, October 1, we invoke her intercession. One way to do that is to pray the Chaplet of St. Therese.

The Chaplet is composed of 24 beads representing her 24 years of life, each with a “Glory Be” to thank God for her, plus an opening prayer to her for intercession. It is often prayed as a 9- or 24-day novena, with promises of receiving a mystical rose as a sign of answered prayers.

The Chaplet of St. Michael the Archangel is a Cath

The Chaplet of St. Michael the Archangel is a Catholic devotion honoring St. Michael and the 9 Choirs of Angels as revealed to a Portuguese Carmelite nun, Servant of God Antónia d’Astónaco, in the 18th century.
This devotion grew widely, and 100 years later, Pope Pius IX officially approved it.

Learn about the 3 things St. Michael promised to those who faithfully recite it.

It doesn’t matter if you start late in the day, like me, what matters is that we begin! On the 22nd we begin our 9-day novena to St. Therese of Lisieux, our patroness, whose feast day we will celebrate on October 1st.

If you’re signed up for our email list, the link to the FREE Download on our website with an explanation of this devotion. You can also get that in our shop, littlewithgreatlove.com/shop

I hope you’ll join me in praying for whatever intention is pressed on your heart through this beautiful 9-day devotion to invoke the intercession of the Little Flower.

How do I know prayer works?

Five days ago I had major surgery, laparoscopic. My doctor performed a Hysterectomy and removed Endometriosis that I suspected…

I stayed overnight in the Hospital and came home on Friday.

Today was my first work, and little outing with my Hubby. How did I do?

What a week! From an unexpected Anointing of the Sick on our way home from Colorado, to pre-op, surgery, post-op, hospital stay amidst hundreds of prayers, Masses, meetings, messages—even worldwide, a post-op pillow delivery, meals…

On this feast of our Patroness Mother Teresa of Calcutta, I’m grateful for the big and small ways we have been shown great love all throughout this journey. Now the healing has begun, as I rest!

I say all the time how blessed we are to know the best people. I’m offering prayers of gratitude and abundance for all who are praying, caring, and supporting us as I take the next 4-6 weeks to recover 🙏🏼❤️

It’s my parent’s wedding anniversary today. I first learned what love is and what it isn’t from these two becoming one….

From the obituary I wrote 15 years ago for my mom: “After graduating from Allen Park High School and working as a Secretary, [Eve Marie] met her Sweetheart, Richard Sanchez, during a summer camping trip. The couple was married the following year on August 19, 1967 at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Melvindale, Michigan.

Married for 43 years, Eve & Richard raised their 4 dear children, Paul, Jeffrey, Christopher and Lisa over the years in Inkster, Livonia, and finally in Dearborn, Michigan. Possessing a true servant’s heart, Eve faithfully cared for family and friends through delicious cooking/baking from scratch – including cake decorating, sewing and crafting.

A woman of faith and the heart of the Sanchez family, Eve shaped their spirituality by her tireless Christian example, and also through various Catholic Charismatic prayer groups and activities. With a real zest for life, Mrs. Sanchez loved to dance, write, read, pray, bowl, play games/cards – especially with her Grandchildren, chat with friends and family, and travel…just to name a few.”

From the obituary I wrote for my dad 7 years ago: “Married 43 years, Richard cared for his dear wife and four children throughout his life, including the two rounds of Eve’s cancer until it claimed her life in January of 2011. After his health began to decline in 2017, he moved in August of that year to Austin, Texas to be closer to one of his children, Lisa, and her husband, Mike.

A man of abiding faith through many hardships, Richard and Eve were members of various Catholic prayer groups. He instilled his beliefs in their children and made an impact on many through his wisdom, counsel, encouragement, prayer, and witness. His stories, humor, and thoughtfulness endeared him to others.“
