What Are the Biggest Challenges Facing Pregnancy Centers Today?

What are some of the biggest challenges pregnancy centers are facing today?

That’s what we’re going to discuss as part of our Easter 2024 series, “Rebuild My Church,” and offer us, the Church, the Body of Christ, actionable ways to help overcome those challenges in an effort to bring renewal from within.

Patrick Novecosky is an old friend and colleague, and one of America’s most accomplished Catholic communicators. He founded his own PR firm, NovaMedia, and serves as the Executive Director of the Warrenton Pregnancy Center in Warrenton, Virginia.

He’s the author of 100 WAYS JOHN PAUL II CHANGED THE WORLD and has won over two dozen awards from the Catholic Press Association. He has edited and written for some of America’s top publications and has been published in five languages. Patrick serves as the Executive Director of the Warrenton Pregnancy Center in Warrenton, Virginia. He’s the founder of NovaMedia, a public relations firm specializing in the Catholic space. He previously served as Legatus Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief for 12 years. He’s traveled to 28 countries, met Pope St. John Paul II five times, and made Pope Francis laugh out loud, but most importantly, he is a husband and father of five beautiful children.

Challenges:

1. Many young women still buy the lie that some human life is disposable. Even more disturbing, they’re not interested in a rational discussion on the implications of their choices.

Solution: We’re implementing a free STD testing program for young women. The hope is to attract young women who are living in an at-risk lifestyle and open a discussion with them on how to live “sexual risk avoidance.”

2. The end of Roe v Wade sparked anger among abortion advocates, including violence against PRCs.

Solution: Continued prayer and advocacy for the pro-life position.

3. Hostility from lawmakers who want to close or fine PRCs as “fake clinics.” Big tech.

Solution: Continue to advocate with sympathetic/pro-life lawmakers and improve P&P that are in line with best practices for medical clinics — and hire/train qualified, competent staff.

What are 3 things we all can do?

Underlining all of this is prayer, which moves the heart of God, who grants graces to hardened hearts. I’ve also rallied the support of pastors in our service area. They are outstanding advocates for our work and consistently preach a pro-life message.

Where can we find you online and your clinic to be able to support you?
